MONITOR:
•Take note of how many pills are in each of your prescription bottles. •Keep track of your refills. •Encourage others to regularly monitor their medicine cabinets. SECURE: •Take prescription drugs out of the medicine cabinet and hide them in a place only you know about. •If possible, keep all medicines, both prescription and over-the-counter, in a secure place. •Tell relatives, especially grandparents, and friends, to lock their medications or keep them in a safe place. DISPOSE: •Remove any personal info from prescription bottles before disposal. •Properly dispose of your unused prescription drugs and other medicines at Powell Co. Courthouse & the City Hall in Clay City. •If you are unable to drop off unused prescription drugs at our local police departments, mix the medication with an undesirable substance like coffee grounds or kitty litter, put them mixture in an empty can or bag, and dispose.
